deadly Prey x FAWW Gallery

In March 2023, Sarah Kravitz hosted a second exhibition with FAWW Gallery who collaborated with Chicago-based Deadly Prey Gallery to present an exhibition showcasing their infamous collection of Ghanaian movie poster painters.

This event marked the first London exhibition for both the gallery and the featured artists. The exhibition featured works by renowned Ghanaian artists, including Heavy J, Farkira, Salvation, Stoger, Mr. Nana Agyq, Leonardo, C.A. Wisely, Magasco, Nii Bi Ashitey, and Bright Obeng. These artists are celebrated for their hand-painted movie posters, characterized by vibrant colors and imaginative interpretations of film narratives. Traditionally, these posters were created for mobile cinemas in Ghana, serving as dynamic advertisements for films and showcasing the artists’ creativity and cultural commentary.
